Jason Dolley, the 15-year-old rising star on The Disney Channel, got his break in acting when he was given the lead role in a film called Chasing Daylight. He has since starred in several films and television series, including the popular Cory in the House and the new Disney series coming out in 2008, The Minutemen. Jason is enjoying his roles on The Disney Channel and hopes to continue expanding his growing career.
The Start of his Career
Jason always wanted to act and even at his young age, has had the opportunity to learn the acting ropes. After filming Chasing Daylight, famous actor, Mel Gibson found Jason and liked his work. He chose Jason to play in a show called Complete Savages in 2004. This role called for Jason to play the little brother of five. After that he starred in the popular movie Saving Shiloh, based on the book. In 2006, Jason also appeared in the Disney original movie Read it and Weep, as well as Air I Breathe and Young Pleasures. It was back to television series for Jason in 2007 when he appeared on That’s So Raven and the new Cory in the House. Disney recently selected Jason to star in the new series called Minutemen, which is to air in early January 2008. In addition to film, he has appeared on numerous commercials and live stage productions. Voice-over work is also listed on his resume. He has also taken acting classes to help him perfect his skills.
Jason’s Hobbies & Interests
Jason describes himself as just a regular guy that enjoys things that most other teens his age likes. He does enjoy going to the movies and his favorite actors are Robert Redford and Liam Neison. His favorite movie is the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. Jason also reports that his is very close to his older brother, Jeffery, and the two enjoy spending time together. When Jason is not filming, he stays busy with school (keeping a 4.0 average) and enjoying activities with his church group. He also has Chocolate Labrador Retriever that he loves, and enjoys video games, and yo-yo tricks. Jason also reports that his favorite color is blue and that enjoys playing the game Settlers of Catan. When he is hanging out with his older brother and his friend, he enjoys a game of paintball. His special skills include karate, baseball, football, and swimming.
