You can always count on the Disney channel to bring the hottest new actors on the television screen, and to create shows that kids will love. From High School Musical 2 to the new movie, Minutemen, Disney knows exactly what kids want to see. Minutemen is a new made-for-television movie that will air on the Disney Channel cable network on January 25, 2008, and will star actor Jason Dolley, who has also been a part of other Disney shows such as That’s So Raven and Cory in the House.
This new movie is already getting a fair amount of press and attention. The show follows three high school students that invent a time machine to save other students from embarrassing situations. It seems that these three students have had their own share of unfortunate situations at school and feel quite sorry for others that have had the same thing happen to them. This show blends a little bit of comedy with both science fiction and adventure, according to Disney Channel Stars.net.
Jason Dolley, who will play the very un-hip and un-cool Virgil in this movie, has been on the Disney Channel many times before in other movies and series, and will be joined in this movie by Luke Benward, Nicolas Braun (who plays Zeke, the school bully and resident cool guy) and Steven R. McQueen. McQueen plays Jason’s best childhood friend and helps him in his adventures in the time machine. In a recent interview, these teens said they all got along really well and were looking forward to the release of the new movie. Steven McQueen is actually the grandson of the very famous actor, Steve McQueen. All of the teenagers staring in this movie are already accomplished actors, even at such a young age. Jason Dolley has enjoyed a string of successes and will continue his acting career.
Inspiration for the Minutemen
The story behind this movie is that the “uncool” kids feel very sorry for others that have suffered the embarrassing situations at the hands of others. The time machine allows them to go back and help these kids. They soon learn, however, that everything they do with their time machine makes them suffer consequences.
You can be sure that many kids will be tuning in to the Minutemen when it airs for the first time. Be on the look out when you watch the Disney Channel. They are already airing ads and interviews with the cast of the show. Tune in to see exactly what happens on their time travels.
