It is a given that most kids love the Disney Channel. They play all the favorite shows such as That’s So Raven, Hannah Montana, and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. This year Disney is gearing up for their Disney Channel’s Happy U Year Celebration, where they celebrate everything that kids love the most for a rockin' New Year's Eve.
What is U Year?
Disney’s U Year is all about "you," or your kids to be more precise. They have a special place on their website that allows children to post videos that they have made directly on the site. Kids can then go to the Disney Channel website, vote on their favorite Disney Channel episodes, and give a shout out to their friends. During the Disney’s’ U Year celebration top rated episodes, along with favorite kid-made videos and shout outs will be aired on television.
When is Happy U Year?
The Disney’s Happy U Year Celebration will air on The Disney Channel on New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2007, and will continue through January 1, 2008. It will feature all the favorite stars and episodes voted on by kids all across the nation.
Downloading Video to U Year
If your kid wants to get in on the Disney’s Happy U Year Celebration, give them a video camera and get them busy. They can make a video of themselves or friends doing just about anything. Kids go to the Disney Channel website and will need to register for an account. They must have parent permission and answer a few questions about themselves, such as name, user name, age, and the state in which they reside. It will then allow the kids to choose what kind of video they are submitting:
If your child is new at video making, don’t worry. The Disney website gives them plenty of tips to help make their submission an success, such as “don’t wear strips” and “don’t do or say anything bad." (Disney Channel website)
Remember, safety for your child is a number one concern. If you don’t feel comfortable allowing your child to submit a video on the website, your child can also email a shout out or call a toll free number.
