Ashley Tisdale is probably one of the most popular and recognizable tween and teen stars of today. She is known for her roll as Sharpay in High School Musical and more recently, High School Musical 2, as well as her reoccurring role as Maddie, the candy counter girl in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody on the Disney Channel. She has also released her solo debut album called Headstrong in early 2007.

Ashley was born on July 2, 1985 in Monmouth, New Jersey. Her parents, Lisa and Mike have supported her through her career since the young age of three, when a talent agent spotted her at a local mall. She appeared in hundreds of commercials and a child and then spent much of her youth appearing on stage and on Broadway. In fact, she got her starring role in Les Miserables when she was only eight years old. After Les Miserables, Ashley toured with Annie and appeared in other stage productions.
Ashley’s Television Career
After Ashley got experience appearing on live stage, she moved onto film. She appeared in many popular television series and it was there that she got the experience she needed to move onto bigger projects. In 2005, she found fame in the Suite Life series, but it is interesting to note that she auditioned for both the role of Maddie and London. She was an instant success to girls all over the country and she really found her niche when she was cast as the snotty drama queen, Sharpay Evans in the first High School Musical.

Many young girls enjoy learning all they can about this charismatic actress. Her fans might be interested to learn that Ashley is only 5 feet 3 inches and that she has an older sister named Jennifer, who is also an actress. Jennifer is three years older than Ashley and has appeared in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody with her sister and the dance version of High School Musical.
Ashley also enjoys animals and has her own dog named Blondie, which is also her TV nickname on Suite Life. In 2006, Ashley enjoyed the recognition of being the first woman to place two songs at the same time on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for her songs "What I’ve Been Looking For" and "Bop to the Top," both of which were featured in the first High School Musical.
Also interesting to note is that Ashley is not a natural blonde. In fact, she has said in interviews that she has naturally curly hair that is dark brown. For her role in Suite Life, she had to dye and cut her long hair and often is seen wearing extensions.
